1st Comenius Project Meeting: FOOTPRINTS THROUGH EUROPE

Kindergarten Pedenjped from Ljubljana would like to thank all partners in the Comenius school partnerships project from Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic and Croatia for visiting Slovenia and for taking active part in the first Comenius Project Meeting which took place in Ljubljana and Kranjska Gora between 29^th November and 4^th December 2010.

There were 26 participants in this project meeting:

Italy: 8 participants; special thanks to Frederica (who is the Italian team coordinator and helped with preparation of the visit and cultural and food presentation of Italy in Kranjska Gora), Maria (who is full of energy, ideas and is/was aware of importance of cross-cultural integration among the mobility participants), Elisabetta (who made a FOOT blog and has a role of Blog administrator);

Ireland: 3 participants; this group has probably made the best surprise-box;

Czech Republic: 4 participants;

Croatia: 1 participant; special thanks to Diana for her cooperation and cross cultural/singing spirit in a group and Milena for her hospitality in kindergarten Horizonts in Zagreb;

Slovenia: 10 participants;

Spain didn’t participate on the mobility meeting, but Natalia sent surprise boxes with puppets and flash cards.

This meeting allowed the development of this partnership and sharing of experiences and it was therefore an essential step for the dissemination of good ideas and practices in the field of encouraging participation and cultural discovery and to explore cultural identity and diversity in the contest of European culture in kindergartens and primary schools. We also took the opportunity to exchange materials (footprints surprise boxes with mascots, introductory stories in diaries, and flash cards with other material) and coordinated the schedule of project activities and meetings as there was a change in partnerships approval. DVD with photos, e-material and mobility films from our meeting in Slovenia will be sent to your addresses by post in the next week.

I hope we’ll all have opportunity to meet again on our second mobility meeting in Dublin/Ireland on the 28^th March - 1^st April 2010. Till then I wish you many pleasant and instructive moments on our footprints journey through Europe. Best regards from Ljubljana.
